JY PATCH Football club patches · Factory direct

Why club patches fail after 20 washes (and how to test yours)

Most patch failures are not print failures. They are backing, edge and heat-setting failures. Here is the test we run before bulk.

A crest that looks perfect on the sample table can fail in the wash. The usual causes are the backing adhesive, an unfinished edge, or a heat press that was too cool for the fabric.

Three tests before bulk

We wash-test on the actual jersey fabric, check edge fraying after 20 cycles, and measure colour shift against the approved lab dip.

Ask your patch supplier which fabric the sample was tested on — not just which patch was tested.
